On 24 January 2006, at the European Parliament in Brussels, the Brazilian Minister of Culture Gilberto Gil and some Members of the European Parliament - Umberto Guidoni (European United Left), Roberto Galtieri (European United Left), Monica Frassoni (European Greens/EFA), Eva Lichtenberger (European Greens/EFA), Vittorio Prodi (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe) - launch the "Tunis Mon Amour" campaign for a Bill of Rights of the Internet.
These Europarliamentarians will constitute a support group for the campaign, so that Europe takes stance in favour of the Bill of Rights, supporting since the next meetings in Geneva the necessity that the United Nations add the issue of the Bill to the agenda of the new Internet Governance Forum (IGF) announced in Tunis.
The group of parliamentarians, who already experimented effective actions in the battle against software patents, will also commit to create a series of meetings at the international level to stimulate discussion and promote the proposal of the Bill of Rights in the various institutional arrangements.
